Michael Horowitz
I graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst in
1985. I have been licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and California
since 1990.
I had the honor to intern with both the Sacramento County District Attorney's
Office, and with the United States Attorney's Office in Sacramento.
Prior to attending Law School, I was a Congressional Intern for Charles
Schumer, when the current US Senator was a first-term Congressman from
Brooklyn, New York.
I also briefly worked as an "extra" actor, appearing in several
commercials and a made for TV movie. I am the father of two sons, ages
10 and seven. We live in San Ramon, where I coach my oldest son's
basketball team; my wife is a pre-school teacher.
I have practiced almost exclusively in the field of personal injury for
the past 23 years, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. In the
past three years alone, I have tried four cases to jury verdict in San
Francisco, Alameda and Santa Clara counties. From 1999 to 2011, I specialized
in insurance defense for GEICO Insurance, where I represented insured
drivers in a variety of accident-related lawsuits. This gives me a rare
opportunity to see and understand your case from the other side of the table.
